This is a University Project and is in no relation to the TASTE FESTIVALS OR ORIGINAL TASTE OF LONDON COMPANY. A journey through the homes of London trying to understand the relationship between food and people.
Taste Of London seeks to understand the essence of food through 'Home Cooking' by sharing different food experiences with people from various backgrounds.
This project intends to unlock the doors of your mind, to understand why we eat what we eat from our favourite foods, to dishes we hate, to sharing and experiencing food moments.
In doing this I am hoping to get a taste of culture, history, flavour and also trying to understand
the reasons behind the foods that we eat.
My name is Junior Monney and I am the creator of the Taste Of London Food Experience (This is no relation to the Taste Of London Festival).
Hey guys I would just like to thank everyone who supported me on the project it really did project me into getting the degree I really deserve all those sleepless nights, blood sweat and tears. I really do appreciate it.

I would like to welcome you to the ‘Official blog of the Taste Of London Food Experience’.
Taste of London is a food project that has aimed to set out on a journey to understand the relationship between food and people. I wanted to try and understand the essence of food through ‘Home Cooking’ by sharing different food experiences and food stories with people from various backgrounds, hoping to understand why people eat what they eat. My main inspiration stemmed from my dislike for the glamorous world of celebrity cooking shows as I felt it would be more ideal to create a project that would give accreditation to the real chefs of London, which in my opinion are regular people from different backgrounds, status’, cultures and walks of life. This was a chance for them to share their own food story and also an opportunity for me to find out if there was still a value for home cooking in our society.
Taste Of London Now Officially has a Youtube page. Yes the url is in another name, but as I had an old account already set up, I thought to take advantage of it through out the project and now that my videos are beginning to receive public attention I couldn’t bare to loose all those ‘view counts’ I worked so hard to get so I revamped my youtube page got rid of all my clutter videos and cleaned it up to feature my Taste Of London Videos.
P.S: All the videos featured on that page are all videos which are featured in this blog.
This is just a way to reach out to a cross network audience.
All the images featured on the youtube page can be found here, but if you would like to see what the you tube page looks like then you can click on the title hover link above.
First of all I would like to thank those of you who have already voted on my poll and to those who haven’t I would appreciate it greatly if you could. It only takes 2 SECONDS!!
It seems to be doing very well with over 100+ people casting their votes and as you can see Design ‘ A ‘ seems to be the publics favourite.
Along with the votes there have also been a few suggestions that have been forwarded to me with their suggestions on how I can improve the design or make it more visually appealing.
So here are the uploads of your suggestions
Hope you like it:
1a. ”Quick suggestion.. How about Knife on the T, spoon in the O, fork on the N? Then you have have the whole set in equal number.(instead of multiple knives.) …..just a thought.”
Directors Comment: “Instead of putting a spoon in the ‘O’ I only included the fork in this design. I did try to put a spoon in the ‘O’ but it ruined the logo completely.”
1b. “I think u shud either change the first knife to a fork or the second knife to fork but dont have both knives coz it doesn’t show what else you can do if u know what i mean.”
2. “I think it would look more like a full set without the knife on the final ‘N’.”
3.“I don’t like the nife sticking out of the ends of the T AND N. I think its looks more professional with just the image within the O. ….. just a thought. (but then again i suppose it depends on what exactly its for and the vibe your trying to put across).”
I need to decide on a Logo that embodies the concept of Taste Of London, The Essence of Home Cooking.
On the ‘Top Right’ hand side of this blog below the T.O.L description is a poll containing designs of the Taste of London logo that I created and modifications to the early design ideas of the logo suggested by various members of the public which are also included.
I need to decide what Logo I am going to use as I am coming to the end of the documentaries and I need you to help me as I putting it to the public to decide which design works best as a logo.
Your vote counts.
Thank you
P.S: If the image on the top right is not clear or you need to see them close up, then below is are the images. Look at them and cast your vote on the right or you can copy this link that takes you to the site where you can directly vote on the poll: http://www.vizu.com/vot/Entertainment/Arts/taste+of+london/logo/poll-vote.html?n=209688&cId=
Taste Of London - The Essence Of Home Cooking: Shelley Adams. A British Hertiage - Episode 5
❝The Experience❞
We are invited into the home of the Adams Family to share with Shelley what I considered to be a fulfilling experience that left me with a full stomach. More importantly I was privileged to share a part of a British Heritage, to taste a certified traditional dish that is known through out the land.
Famous for the farm where its main ingredient comes from known as the Yorkshire Rhubarb Triangle, Shelley shares with us today a dish called Rhubarb Crembrules which is full of British flavour with a coating of a French mix.
Taste Of London - The Essence Of Home Cooking: Helen Graves. Food Stories - Episode 4
❝The Experience❞
My quest in search for the “Essence Of Home Cooking” takes us to the south east parts of London to share a food experience with Helen Graves .
Originally from Oxford Helen now lives in peckham and shares her story on her new found love for Peckham since moving from her home town.
She talks about Peckham in relation to the people, the environment, flavour, the diversity and but more importantly THE FOOD which embodies what her blog is all about, “Capturing the aromas of Peckham”.
This is her Food Story.
For this experience Helen decides to make a dish called Salt Fish Fritters served with a Sweetcorn Salsa side dish which oozes with spice, colour and flavour as her new found love. PECKHAM.
